Grimm Tales – Perusal Score
A descriptive, energetic, lyrical, and dramatically colorful suite for symphonic winds based upon five of the Grimm Bros. collection of fairy tales: “Rapunzel,” “Little Red Riding Hood,” “The Shoes that Were Danced to Pieces,” “Rumpelstiltskin, and “The Musicians of Bremen.”
Rapunzel – Partial Perusal
The first movement in the Grimm Tales suite for symphonic band, this is a dramatic and colorful musical version of the Rapunzel story.
Rumpelstiltskin – Partial Perusal
The fourth movement in the Grimm Tales suite for symphonic band in which the “Rumpelstiltskin” name is represented in a four-note solo flute motif, the King’s court as three trumpets, and low woodwinds and brass conjuring the devious imp.
The Musicians of Bremen – Partial Perusal
The fifth and final movement in the Grimm Tales suite for symphonic band in which the four animals—the donkey, the dog, the cat, and the rooster—are each represented by their own instruments.
